Dragon Power is actually an Americanized version of The Dragon Ball Mystery game that is based on Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama. Some of the sprites in the game were changed and some of the names changed but this is still a Dragon Ball game though it is "westernized".

Not bad. Some of the sprites were changed a bit to make the game westernized. Son Goku was replaced by a boy with a pink Gi and head band, and Master Roshi was replaced with a wizard looking guy. The sprites for Bulma, Oolong, Yamacha, Puar, and the rabbit boss remain the same.

Sound: 4
There aren't a huge selection of songs in this game and the sound effects aren't the best. After a while you'll be turning the sound off before you start grinding your teeth to nubs.

Unfortunately the gameplay kind of gets repetitive and stale but is still good enough to hold your attention for a while. There are two type of action scenes in the game, an overhead view and a fighting game style side view for boss fights. You attack by punching, whacking with a staff (when you find it), or using wind waves (Generic Kamehameha wave), and in boss fights jump kicking is added.

Not one of the best games but a half-way decent one at least. Many who play this will undoubtedly notice that this game is in fact Dragon Ball.

This game was meant to be a westernized or Americanized version of Dragon Ball but it failed to garner a popular following as this game was nothing more than a cheesy carbon copy of Dragon Ball. If you really want, play the actual game Dragon Ball Mystery instead of this one!
